Pender Plan

  1. Give local government back to the citizens of Pender County.
    • Commissioner meetings should be split one west and one east each month.
      • Fight to have equal representation monthly.
    • Promote the county app for all residents of Pender County.
      • Updated way to share information in everyone’s hands.
      • Form a committee to research how to share the app more appropriately.
  2. Put our children first.
    • Create and maintain an active partnership with the Board of Education and plan for the future.
      • Create a long term plan addressing the growth and development of our school system. (Purchase land before it is not available and discuss the future of athletic programs.)
      • Seek a transportation consultant to present alternatives and options to create a more effective and time productive school busing system.
      • Explore opportunities throughout our community to offer positive activities for our communities children.
  3. Implement guidelines and strategies to promote healthy growth throughout our community.
    • Attract new businesses to the area that will benefit our community and its future.
    • Control the amount of new construction until the infrastructure can maintain the growth.
    • Immediately address the outdated 2010 Unified Development Ordinance that does not protect overcrowding and unnecessary stress on our current outdated infrastructure.
    • Explore strategies to implement a plan to bring all county departments up to national operating averages addressing equipment and manpower needs.
  4. Protect the 2nd amendment within our community.
    • Present and pass a resolution designating Pender County a Gun Sanctuary Community with absolute and clear certainty that our citizens will be protected.
    • Support the Sheriff Office in issuing concealed carry permits for our community members rapidly.
    • Promote gun education and training programs throughout our community.
  5. Fight for redistricting immediately
    • Our community is not equally represented.
    • Commissioners should represent an equal amount of our community and currently this is not taking place.
    • The eastside does not have equal representation at the table on community issues and concerns.
    • Explore all options to resolve this issue.
  6. Many more positive and community based ideas to come from Joe Cina as We The People are placed back in charge of Pender County.
